Colorado-based Jack Campbell & the Head Mess draws on the Minneapolis songwriting tradition of stuffing infectious pop earworms and unique harmonic flavors into a fuzzy garage rock package. Their danceable indie rock veneer, akin to influences such as Sondre Lerche, the Replacements, and Built To Spill, centers around themes of mental health and addiction struggles.

Jack's music has found a worldwide audience following the release of Absentee (2013) and its feature during a Welcome to Night Vale weather segment, with much of his fanbase spread throughout the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.

The group's latest release, Head Mess Sessions, is a DIY entry recorded in the Head Mess home studio in Arvada. It features clarinet trio arrangements through a distortion pedalboard, disco-style boots 'n cats, and a fuzzy ode to the loss of a fuzzy friend.
